19 September 2025, New York, USA — The International Academy for Arts and Cultural Studies (IAA) and Zhiyi Industrial Research Institute successfully organized the Industriology Forum at UN Headquarters in New York. The conference, hosted by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research New York Office (UNITAR-NYO), convened diplomats, scholars, and industry leaders to rethink industry for global cooperation.
With support from the Consortium for Diplomacy and Global Action of Teachers College — Columbia University (CDGA) and Tsinghua University Institute for Global Industry (IGI), the event introduced "Industriology" as a new multidisciplinary field. This approach integrates insights from science, policy, and international relations to ensure industrial processes contribute constructively to peace, security, and sustainable development.

The forum was opened with remarks from Ambassador Marco A. Suazo, Head of the Office at UNITAR-NYO. A central focus of the event was the work presented by the Zhiyi Industrial Research Institute. Dr. Zhiyi He, Chairman of the Zhiyi Industrial Research Institute, delivered a keynote address presenting the "Global Analytical Report on Industriology." He was joined by his colleague, Dr. Jun Yang, Staff Scientist at the Institute and Research Fellow at Peking University, who delivered a keynote on "Global Industrial Power by Countries."

Throughout the forum, the contributions of the Zhiyi Industrial Research Institute were highlighted. Dr. Amaj Rahimi Midani, Laureate of COP 28, Scientist, and Research Scholar in Environmental Sciences hosted a panel dialogue, where Dr. He participated alongside experts including Dr. Celina Lee Khairullah, CEO of Zindi; Dr. Antonio Reyes Gonzales, Research Analyst at UNDP; Dr. Gary Burniske, Professor of Sustainable Agriculture at Purdue University; and Dr. Katie Merx, Communications Expert at Merx Communication.

A key moment was the official presentation of the publication, "Global Industrial Landscape 2025: Insights from Listed Companies' Data." The report was jointly presented by Ambassador Suazo and Dr. Zhiyi He.
As the forum concluded, participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing Industriology as a new framework for sustainable development. The discussions underscored that the future of industry must be guided not solely by technological progress, but by principles of equity, environmental stewardship, and international cooperation.

By bringing together leaders from academia, diplomacy, and the private sector, the Industriology Forum demonstrated how cross-disciplinary collaboration can generate practical pathways toward the United Nations’ vision of inclusive and sustainable growth.
The International Academy for Arts and Cultural Studies, together with its partners, expressed its determination to continue fostering this dialogue, ensuring that Industriology serves as a living framework through which industrial advancement contributes to peace, prosperity, and the shared future of humanity.
